of a specialist

Your general veterinarian is a very knowledgeable and skilled clinician who is trained to perform many general procedures. Some conditions however require additional specialist expertise and equipment in order to give your pet the best chance of a successful outcome.

Specialist Veterinarians exist across many fields including surgery, internal medicine, oncology, dermatology, diagnostic imaging etc.

To be registered as a Specialist in Australia, a minimum of 5 years of additional training under the supervision of a Specialist followed by successful completion of a rigorous examination process by the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists is required.

The specialists at Insight bring skills and expertise that help to diagnose more complex diseases and conditions that your pet may have. We are able to undertake and perform these complex procedures at a very high level with a low risk of complications. Results from these procedures will give both you and your general vet more information to help support and manage your pet back to optimal health.
